Be interested, smile!

Become genuinely interested in other people – Will asking the guest what wine is likely to be found in their home, i.e., that they like to drink regularly, make you likely to get a bigger tip?

Smile – It’s hard to resist a big smile without smiling back. If the guest smiles in response to your smile are they likely to be in a better tipping mood?

Remember that a person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language – From the reservation list, you find this is the “Smith” party. Will the comment “is this the Smith party that has come to wine and dine this evening?” improve your tip money? Is “Smith” more likely to be the one paying the bill or determining the tip?
