Full-bodied white wines

4. Full Bodied Whites often Oaked

The classic toasted oak/vanilla-flavored wine is made from the Chardonnay grape. However, there are other full-bodied white wines such as Viognier, Pinot Grigio, and Spanish white wines which are also heavier and more pleasing.  Very few of the other full-bodied white wines other than Chardonnay have much oak flavor, but many wine drinkers enjoy the fuller body of those wines.

Sometimes Chenin Blanc from California, an occasional Gewürztraminer from Alsace, an Italian Soave or Vermentino, a southern French Marsanne, a Spanish Verdejo, or an Australian Sémillon may please this style lover.
