“Fine” may not be fine

Many guests will answer that everything is “fine” when actually it isn’t, just to be polite. Only accept “excellent” and above as a good wine-food pairing. Ask what would have been a better combination if the pairing is stated as less than perfect. The guest may not always know much about wine and food pairings but they will always appreciate being asked.

“Fine” means just OK, or maybe not even!
