Clothing with a wine stain that is normally dry-cleaned should be taken to the dry cleaners as soon as possible even if the stain appears to be removed by the above agents. If the clothing is water washable, the StainRx® or Dawn®/peroxide combination should be washed out with COLD water as soon as convenient as should tablecloths and napkins. Any heat or hot water fixes the stain more tightly to the fibers of the cloth.
OxiClean®as a washing machine detergent also does a good job removing wine stains and is frequently used for tablecloths with wine stains.
