Pour carefully

While pouring wine, take your time so that the wine does not splash onto the table, the guest, or your own clothes.

If the guest is watching you pour, you should also display the wine label to them. If they are otherwise engaged, just move to pour the next guest’s glass.

The bottle should then be placed on the table on a coaster or placemat just to the right of the host so as not to stain the tablecloth or tabletop. A chilled wine may be placed back in an ice bucket to the side of the table near the host or on the table in a bucket or chiller.

Pour from the right, for women go backward in time, for men go forward, set your clock by the host.

Right! (to pour and remove)
