Section 2 – Presenting the Wine Bottle
As a wine server or waitstaff, you do not ever want to be put in the position when, toward the end of the meal, the guest disputes that you served them the wine they ordered. They might say you brought the incorrect vintage year or the right brand but a different varietal of that brand’s wines.
To avoid this uncommon but real problem, you should confirm the ordering of the correct wine when you initially bring the bottle to the table.
Be sure to show the ordering guest the label on the wine and ask if this is the correct brand and vintage year that they wanted.
