So what are the red flags for overserving alcohol to a guest?
- Slurring of words
- Poor balance or stumbling back from the restroom.
- Aggression towards staff
- Raised speech volume at the table
- Spilling drinks,
- Inability to find one’s mouth with a glass
- Drowsiness
- Difficulty opening and closing doors.
- Any crude or boisterous behavior
And remember a customer who is a pleasant drunk and a customer who’s an angry drunk are just as dangerous if they’re allowed to leave and get behind the wheel.
