Let guests do the talking – Ask questions. Any guest may not be much of a wine drinker or perhaps a social wine drinker who prefers fruitier, sweeter wines. They may be watching calories (a dryer or lower alcohol wine may have slightly fewer calories). They may just have never met a wine they really liked.
Mention any special wines by the glass or bottle that may be good values. Are they in the mood for any white or red wines this evening? Ask them If they prefer more fruity wines or dryer, more tannic wines.
